This week, Program Director Jen Eaton and Digital Literacy Coordinator Lisa Roe presented “What a Digital Literacy Program Can do for Your Community” at the Coalition on Adult Basic Education conference in Seattle.
The presentation covered how to build a digital literacy program like the one offered by Literacy Rochester, explains the digital divide and the challenges addressed by efforts to improve digital equity, and demonstrates how the adult learners who participate in these programs are able to confidently engage in our modern, online society to access jobs, healthcare, and social platforms.
“It’s exciting to be able to share our program and help other literacy organizations around the country as they develop their own programs,” said Lisa Roe.
Digital Literacy has been offered by Literacy Rochester since 2013, and has recently expanded into Ontario, Wayne, and Yates Counties.
