Speaker Series: Eviction Prevention

“LawNY is a legal service firm consisting of 7 offices throughout Western New York, including an office in Rochester.  LawNY Rochester has partnered with the Legal Aid Society of Rochester and Volunteer Legal Services Project to form the Tenant Defense Project (‘TDP’).  TDP was formed in response to the Covid Pandemic.  The goal of TDP is to provide tenants efficient access to legal services and representation for every tenant brought to eviction court in Monroe County.

Robert Vitale is a Supervising Attorney in LawNY Rochester’s Eviction Prevention Unit.  This presentation will provide an overview of New York State landlord-tenant law with a focus on current Covid-related tenant protections. The presentation will also provide information on access to legal services as well as access to financial rent relief for those in need.”
